Welcome to Silver Moon Brewing. I'm Tyler, the owner. Here's a snap shot of our brewery.
A clean brewery makes world class beer. We take that to heart ;)
Here's a shot of a few of our primary fermentors. These are all stainless steel 12 BBL tanks with sanitary shadowless manways. Means no cleaning shadow exists on the inside around the doorway so the brewers can get the tanks super clean inside. That's good.
I think Brett secretly comes in on Sundays to buff these tanks out! He should be fishing but if it makes him feel good who are we to argue. They look really good.

Tyler West is getting ready to add wet or green hops to make our legendary HOPpopotamus Fresh Hop ale. Fresh hop beers use undried hops harvested within hours of kettle addition. We get our fresh hops from the Willamette Valley hop growers. Fresh hop beers can only be made during the hop harvest. Undried fresh hops must be used in beer within 48 hours of harvest (or they start browning). We keep close contact with our hop growers during harvest to get the freshest hops.

#2 BrewerBrett's been with Silver Moon since early 2010.
He's the recipient of the 2011 Glen Hay Falconer Foundation American Brewers Guild scholarship. "This scholarship attracted a very strong group of highly qualified applicants from throughout the Pacific Northwest region. Brett will be attending the American Brewers Guild's Intensive Brewing Science & Engineering course . . . "

Our . Brewery
A tidy place making legendary beer!From humble beginnings in 2000 we started Silver Moon brewing on a 1.5 BBL BOP system. In 2005 we moved the brewery to our 24 NW Greenwood Ave location and now boil up our wort on a beautiful all stainless steam fired 12 BBL JVNW brew house.
We produce 1400 BBLs* of beer annually and have recently added 6 more custom build fermentation vessels to our system. For 2011 we're gearing up to offer 1600+ barrels to our devoted patrons.
*1 BBL=31 gal.
We sell our beers in Bend, Portland, Salem, Corvalis, Eugene and elsewhere through out Oregon. We are now sending our bottled beers to Seattle and select locations in Washington.
